original post date - friday, june 02, 2006

i saw anne again today. i went over to say hi and see how she was doing. she was busy and i paused because i didn't want to interupt her. she looked at me and waved me over. she was busy with someone, a co-worker i think, so she got close to me and said we should have lunch soon 'cause she would be moving to another location for work and she probably wouldn't see me anymore.

woohoo!!! that's right! woohoo!!

i told her i was camping next week and gave her my e-mail address. she's going to e-mail me the date, time and location.
she was really busy so i left without saying much. i think she could see the perma-smile on face though. :)

i didn't even ask her out this time.

i saw anne again today. i hadn't seen her in a few weeks and wondered if she quit her job or moved or was in exams or maybe i scared her away and i was being followed by investigators for stalking her. :/

as it turns out, the location where she's working now is moving. she had to go and spend some time at another location and then at the new location. she had to look into all aspects of the business to get ready for the move. she's pretty excited about it.
we talked for a few minutes about that and did a little catching up on the "how have you been's". we've both been really busy with work lately and we're both burning out.
just before i had to leave i asked her if she wanted to take a break. i told her she could just drop what she was doing, i wouldn't go back to work, and we could just go and have coffee on a patio and relax without a care in the world for a couple of hours.
she dropped the bag she had in her hand, took my hand and said 'lets go!' and then she broke out laughing. she smiled and at the same time we both said we had to get back to work.

then all i could think about was sitting on a patio for the afternoon drinking expensive coffee

i had to work today. when i went over to the mall i saw anne working. she smiled and waved at me so i went over to say hi. we chatted for a few minutes and she seemed all giggly about something so i asked what was up.
she paused for a second and then told me that she had told her friends about how i have asked her out a few times and now they want to know if and when i ask her out again.
so i asked her if she wanted to go out for a couple of drinks and then we could go back to my place for another drink and a bubble bath (i don't know. that's what just popped into my head. she was all bubbly). the second i said it i felt awkward. she burst out laughing. i think she might have been high.

girls are weird.

i saw anne yesterday. she smiled at me from a distance so i went over to say hi.
we chatted for a couple of minutes and so i asked her out again.

i asked her if i made her dinner and included some candles and romantic music if she'd go out with me.
she laughed and said no again.

kara

name - kara
age - 35
occupation - marketing
looks - 7 out of 10
base - 0
type of date - dinner and drinks

i picked kara up at her apartment. i buzzed her buzzer and she asked me to wait downstairs. she’d be down in a minute. there were a couple of chairs in the lobby so i took a seat.
after five minutes i pondered buzzing up again but thought that might be a bit pushy.
after ten minutes i contemplated leaving. i figured i just needed to relax so i did.
after fifteen minutes or so she stepped off the elevator.
i greeted her and kind of expected an apology for the wait. i didn’t get one. :/ maybe i just need to relax a bit more.

i asked her where we were going (she wanted to take me to a place she liked). she told me just to follow her directions and we’d get there.
i think she might have had a bad day or something. i don’t do well with people who’ve had bad days.

i followed her directions and we ended up at the keg. that made me feel a bit better. i love the keg.
we went in and got seated right away. kind of made up for the wait in the lobby at the apartment.

we ordered drinks and looked over the menu while we chatted. maybe it was me, maybe it was not being patient enough in her lobby, maybe i just didn’t really like her, but she was getting on my nerves. i did my best to cover it up.
we talked about work for a bit. i had to work all day so it was on my mind. i did most of the talking. she didn’t say much about what she does or the company she works for. all i got out of her was she was in marketing for a small company in the t.dot.
maybe she didn’t like me (but how could that be possible?).

our waitress came and took our orders and we ordered another drink.
they’ve got this pesto basted salmon that i had to try. it’s been awhile since i’ve been to the keg and they had all this new stuff i really wanted to try.
when i ordered the salmon kara said something about wanting to go to the keg so we’d have steak. i told her i really had to try the salmon with pesto and thought to myself ‘hey, if you’re paying i’ll get what ever you want me to get.’
i stuck with the salmon.

anything we talked about was kept to chit chat. nothing too deep or dramatic. you know how when you meet someone new and you’re out on a date there’s so much to talk about? well it seems neither one of us felt like talking to each other. meh… i’ll have dinner and enjoy it. it was kind of weird though. i felt a bit edgy. blech...

i did my best to keep up some kind of conversation going so we weren’t sitting in silence while we had dinner. i asked her if she wanted to try the salmon. she seemed so against getting fish at a steak house i thought i might push it a bit. maybe just for a bit of my own entertainment. she said no with that i’m a girl and i’m a bitch look. i actually almost lol’d.

after dinner the waitress came and asked us if we wanted to see the desert menu. we both said no and she asked for the bill. she also requested to have the bill split so she could pay for her dinner. i was surprised by that. and i was happy about it.

i drove her home and she said ‘good night’ when she got out of the car. i didn’t say anything.

i don’t know what any of that was all about.

i asked anne out again today.
i asked her if i could make her a nice dinner with wine and dessert. i assured her i'm a good cook and i'd be a perfect gentleman. she laughed and turned me down again.
